Hey there. My name is Melissa. And shockingly enough – I have Celiac disease. I know, you’re probably surprised to find that out after landing on a gluten free blog, right? I was diagnosed in 2009 after feeling like crap for a few short months. I was lucky. Most people take longer to get a diagnosis – but it only took me four months. My story will be shared in pieces of posts here and there – and I can only hope that my experiences and willingness to share way TMI about me and my journey will be of help to someone. Or will comfort them. Or make you realize that you’re not alone.

I live in Southern California with my 5 dogs and thoroughly enjoy a glass of wine from time to time. I’m a professional pet & people photographer and spend a lot of my free time volunteering with rescue, educating people on animal issues, or photographing pets that need to find homes.

I love to travel. I have a thing for tattoos. I’m kind of dry and sarcastic, I hope you can hang with it. And I love cupcakes. Gluten free ones, of course. Sprinkles makes a killer GF red velvet, if you’re wondering.
